About Gap
Gap has always been about optimistic American style. Starting with our very first store on Ocean Avenue in San Francisco, opened almost 50 years ago by Doris and Don Fisher. The thread that’s run through those five decades is the phenomenal people that make up our brand - our employees and our customers. People who are rooted in the legacy that makes Gap what it is, but who are also focused on the future. People who want to leave the world better than they found it.

We’ve built our brand on staying true to our roots while always being out in front of what’s next. If you want to be part of an iconic American brand, and help lead the way for where we’re headed, we’d love to have you join us.

  • On set Art Direction required as well as being the lead AD across all sets.
  • Elevate and evolve Gap’s aesthetic while supporting the overall brand direction.
  • Collaborate closely with the styling team to ensure brand guidelines are being met.
  • Be the overall lead on final image selection and share with Creative Director and Director of Styling as regular intervals during the season.
  • Create and maintain hair and make-up direction for all models.
  • Create and maintain seasonal art direction decks for all divisions.

Who You Are

  • BA in design, photography, visual arts, digital media or related field.
  • Ability to work in Capture One a must.
  • An elevated, fashion-oriented eye for photography, casting, styling, lighting, retouching and artistic vision.
  • Displays a very strong understanding of the Gap brand– our products and consumer behavior.
  • Strong communication skills and time management skills.
  • Strategic thinker willing to push the envelope and bring fresh, innovative ideas to life.
  • Collaborative, inclusive and flexible team member.
  • Highly organized with extreme attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate obstacles and also quickly generate alternate solutions/ideas and change course as needed.
  • Can-do positive attitude and a roll-up-your-sleeves approach; personable and flexible with demands and changes in business.
  • Collaborative and positive attitude.

Benefits at Gap

  • Merchandise discount for our brands: 50% off regular-priced merchandise at Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic and Athleta, and 30% off at Outlet for all employees.
  • One of the most competitive Paid Time Off plans in the industry.
