Job Posting End Date: September 21, 2026 at 11:59pm CST Hiring range: $45,177 to $60,964 ($21.72 to $29.31 per hour). Starting rate will depend on experience, education, and qualifications. Position Description

Anoka County Community Social Services and Behavioral Health is committed to meeting people’s needs through quality services. The department has an immediate opening for an Associate Administrative Assistant who will perform various duties. In this position, you’ll provide centralized control and management for the department’s operational and secretarial needs. Some of the critical responsibilities include general office management, such as record keeping, data entry, purchasing and financial activities, clerical and secretarial support, and coordinating special projects. This is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site position. Interviews will take place in the week of September 28, 2026, for those selected to move forward in the hiring process.

Pay & Benefits

Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 26: $45,177 to $60,964 ($21.72 to $29.31 per hour).

Work Location

This position will work on-site at the Anoka County Government Center, located at 2100 3rd Avenue, Anoka, MN 55303. Expected work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical and secretarial support for the department and troubleshoot basic issues related to department administration.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while answering phones, providing front desk support, assisting walk-in guests, and reserving facilities.
  • Coordinate routine office management and operations, including purchasing and financial activities.
  • Create and edit fill in the blank forms in both Word and Adobe, merge letters, Excel reports, and PowerPoint presentations as directed.
  • Enter data into systems as needed.
  • Act as a liaison and point of contact for the department as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed
  • Requires a high school diploma.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed
  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Teams.
  • Experience working with SharePoint or Civic Plus.
  • Experience working with ADA Compliance and WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Compliance) for documents.
  • Experience working in a mental health environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong grammar and proofreading skills.
  • Organizational skills.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions

Standard office environment. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers. Ability to see colors, shades, and brightness. Hearing abilities required for general and phone communication, signals, and machine sounds. Assignments are sedentary, occasionally alternating between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as required to perform job responsibilities. Frequent wrist and finger manipulation to complete computer work. Lifting of 20-40 lbs. Equipment used includes computers, phones, and standard office equipment. Occasional travel to other county work sites as needed. Travel between work sites may require driving a county vehicle and/or a personal vehicle. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
