Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for the role in athletics/communications or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience at a D1 collegiate athletics program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic communications plan promoting the Jackson State Athletics brand.
• Enhance public relations initiatives to engage students, alumni, fans, and sponsors.
• Oversee the JSU Sports Network through video services, content management, and streaming platforms.
• Produce and manage content on official Jackson State Athletics social media sites.
• Maintain statistics and historical records for all sports.
• Hire and supervise clock operators, statisticians, student workers and announcers for selected sports.
• Produce game day programs and maintain the Athletics website.
• Establish relations with local sports reporters.
• Provide media passes and seating for athletics events when requested.
• Compile statistics and FAQs for in-season events.
• Supervise staff to provide game management for all sports.
• Serve on the Division of Athletics senior leadership team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
