Job summary

Treaty Oak Clean Energy is seeking an Associate, Accounting to support day-to-day accounting operations across multi-entity projects in a fast-growing renewables environment in Austin, Texas. You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, assist with accounts payable, and help close monthly periods.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of accounting experience, a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, strong Excel skills, and attention to detail. CPA or CPA-track a plus.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of accounting experience (public accounting or industry).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to multi-entity or project-based accounting environments.
  • CPA or interest in pursuing a CPA a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and support monthly close procedures.
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Assist with accounts payable processing and related workflows.
  • Support tracking and recording of project-related transactions.
  • Maintain organized documentation to support audits and internal controls.

The Role

Treaty Oak is seeking an Associate, Accounting to support the day-to-day accounting operations of the Company, including transaction processing, reconciliations, and close support. This role is designed for early-career professionals seeking experience in a complex, multi-entity accounting environment within a high-growth renewable energy platform.

The Associate will partner with other functions, including Corporate Finance & Compliance, FP&A, Tax, and Project Finance, to ensure accurate data flow, and will contribute to process improvement and standardization efforts as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare journal entries and support monthly close procedures
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances
  • Assist with accounts payable processing and related workflows
  • Support tracking and recording of project-related transactions
  • Maintain organized documentation to support audits and internal controls
  • Assist in preparation of schedules and audit support materials
  • Partner with other functions (e.g., FP&A, treasury) to ensure accurate data flow
  • Contribute to process improvements and standardization efforts
Education and Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of accounting experience (including public accounting or relevant industry experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Exposure to multi-entity or project-based accounting environments
  • CPA or interest in pursuing a CPA a plus
