Southland Industries, Garden Grove, is seeking an Associate Accountant – Accounts Receivable (Temp to Perm). The role supports AR recordkeeping, posting transactions, customer and job account maintenance, and reconciliation.

You will ensure accurate processing of AR, apply cash receipts, and resolve discrepancies while maintaining compliance with GAAP. Qualifications include 1–3 years AR experience, familiarity with invoicing or payment portals, and strong organizational and communication

Position Summary

The Associate Accountant – Accounts Receivable supports core AR recordkeeping, including transaction posting, customer and job account maintenance, reconciliation, and compliance with applicable regulations and GAAP.

Position Details

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of assigned accounts receivable transactions, with primary responsibility for cash receipts application and customer account
• Assist with processing and applying customer payments, ensuring proper posting and reconciliation.
• Research and resolve straightforward accounts receivable discrepancies , unapplied cash, and customer account irregularities a timely manner. Elevate more complex issues for resolution.
• Assist with new customer setup, including creation and maintenance of customer records, account research & documentation, coordinating portal account setup, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
• Establish and maintain accurate and complete accounting records to ensure data integrity, auditability, and current information.
• Follow appropriate policies and procedures to assure that Southland maintains compliance with all state and federal laws as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Respond to internal and external customer inquiries in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• 1-3 Years Accounts receivable experience preferred
• Experience working within customer invoicing or payment portals preferred.

• Strong organization skills with high level of attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
• Able to analyze and resolve basic issues

• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate level ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
• Able to remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment
• Works under direct supervision
• Makes decisions within defined guidelines

Pay

Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For California this ranges from $27.00 - $30.00/hour plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.

Contingent Employment
