Job summary

Abarca Health LLC in Puerto Rico is seeking an Associate Accountant to support our finance team with general accounting, financial reporting, and external reporting for local management.

You will oversee accounts payable and disbursements (excluding payroll), help prepare monthly management reports, regulatory filings, and annual audits, and coordinate vendor payment issues in a hybrid Puerto Rico work model.

Strong communication skills and a degree in accounting are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or related field.
• 1+ years experience in accounting.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Hybrid work model with on-site days in Puerto Rico.
• Willingness to work in the specified time zone and be available for on-call hours if needed.

As Associate Accountant, you will assist our finance team with all accounting needs. You will perform general accounting, financial reporting, and external reporting functions for local management. You’ll oversee all Accounts Payable and disbursements (with the exception of payroll), including expense reports, reimbursements, pharmacy payments and vendor disputes.

The fundamentals for the job…

• Support the Accounts Payables and Reimbursements process.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives.
• Support with the preparation and completion of the quarterly and annual regulatory filings.
• Assist with annual external audits.
• Coordinate and resolve vendor and pharmacy payment issues.

• Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field. (In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant work experience may be considered.)
• 1+ years experience within the accounting field.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
