Job summary

Abarca Health LLC is seeking an Associate Accountant to join the finance team in Puerto Rico. You will assist with general accounting, financial reporting, and external reporting, while overseeing accounts payable and disbursements (excluding payroll).

You will help prepare monthly management reports, quarterly and annual regulatory filings, and assist with annual external audits. A flexible hybrid model requiring some on-site days in Puerto Rico is offered.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field; in lieu of a degree, relevant work experience may be considered.
• 1+ years experience within the accounting field.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Puerto Rico location requires on-site days as part of a flexible hybrid model.
• Availability to work in a specified time zone or schedule to meet client needs; on-call hours may be required (evenings, weekends, holidays).
• CPA certification is a plus.

As Associate Accountant, you will assist our finance team with all accounting needs. You will perform general accounting, financial reporting, and external reporting functions for local management. You’ll oversee all Accounts Payable and disbursements (with the exception of payroll), including expense reports, reimbursements, pharmacy payments and vendor disputes.

The fundamentals for the job…

• Support the Accounts Payables and Reimbursements process.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives.
• Support with the preparation and completion of the quarterly and annual regulatory filings.
• Assist with annual external audits.
• Coordinate and resolve vendor and pharmacy payment issues.

• Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field. (In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant work experience may be considered.)
• 1+ years experience within the accounting field.
