Role Description

The Associate will work on a full-time, on-site basis in the firm’s Virginia Beach, VA office. Day-to-day responsibilities typically include legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other court filings. The role involves analyzing case files, evaluating liability and damages, and preparing case strategies under the supervision of senior attorneys. The Associate will communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel, participate in depositions and hearings as appropriate, and support trial preparation and appellate work. The position requires strong organization, adherence to deadlines, and active collaboration with colleagues and staff.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission (or eligibility for admission) to the Virginia bar.
• Experience or interest in insurance defense, civil litigation, or related practice areas.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills, including proficiency with legal research tools.
• Effective legal writing and drafting skills for pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize tasks, and meet litigation deadlines.
