Job summary

Hoedemaker Pfeiffer in Seattle is seeking an Associate Interior Designer to contribute to the firm's culture and design excellence, focusing on finely crafted home environments.

You will collaborate with the Project Manager and Principal through all project phases, create presentations and drawings, manage vendor communications, and help develop FF&E and material specifications within budget.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in residential interiors.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field.
  • Knowledge of design process including space planning and reviewing construction documentation and furniture and lighting specifications.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to use it to produce plans and elevations.
  • Proficiency in Studio Designer, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and capable of handling multiple project tasks.
  • Requires flexibility and anticipation of project needs and direction.
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and/or Principal throughout all project phases, from concept development to final installation.
  • Create dynamic presentations, mood boards, detailed drawings, and fixture selections, to effectively communicate design ideas.
  • Manage vendor communications and order project samples.
  • Generate appropriate furniture layouts and floor plans for design vision.
  • Develop design documentation to include casework sketches, elevations, and sections.
  • Provide detailed schedules for paint, flooring, tiling, hardware, plumbing, and lighting selections.
  • Provide expertise on FF&E vendors, resources, and selections to support both the design team and clients.
  • Analyze design objectives to identify and select appropriate FF&E that aligns with the desired aesthetic, budget, and scale.
  • Ensure design specifications meet budget requirements
  • Review and assess vendor quotes for accuracy, assist with revisions, and prepare precise client proposals using Studio Designer
  • Work in partnership with the Purchasing Manager to manage client orders, invoicing, installation coordination

About Us: Hoedemaker Pfeiffer, a boutique architecture and interior design studio specializes in the design of finely crafted custom home environments. We are dedicated to the creation of exceptional outcomes that tell stories about people and places through the experience of space, materiality, and rigorous attention to detail. Our offices are in the Georgetown neighborhood in Seattle.

Currently, we are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Associate Interior Designer who can contribute to the culture and design excellence of Hoedemaker Pfeiffer.

Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in residential interiors
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field
  • Knowledge of design process including experience with space planning and reviewing construction documentation and furniture and lighting specifications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to use it to produce plans and elevations
  • Proficiency in Studio Designer, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Suite

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience drawing custom furniture and details a plus
  • Experience in ArchiCAD software
  • Experience in 3D rendering, Sketchup, Enscape and Photoshop
  • Hand sketching capabilities
  • Passionate for and/or background in the fine arts and Art History

The Associate Interior Designer position has a pay range of $65,000 - $70,000. Offered position and compensation will be determined based on applicant’s qualifications and experience.
