Job Description

Forthis entry-level position, IDG is seeking a passionate, self-driven, and highlyorganized individual who is willing to learn, take ownership over assignedtasks, engage in new challenges, and quickly "switch gears" andmanage multiple priorities. Thisposition reports to the Senior Specialist orManager. This is a full-timeposition (40 hours per week) on a hybrid schedule with in-office days Tuesdays,Wednesdays and Thursdays in IDG's Arlington VA office and remote on Mondays andFridays.

The Associate willparticipate in new business initiatives and under the guidance of a ProposalManager and the Director of New Business, will serve in numerous supportingroles for proposal teams, including serving as a proposal associate and/or engaging in one or more of thefollowing areas: past performance write-ups, corporate capabilities, resume formatting, expatriate and localpersonnel recruitment, technical writing support, technical research, costproposal support, and managing communications with potential and selectedsubcontractors. The Associate will also be expected to engage in pre-RFPcapture activities and research and support other ad-hoc new businessactivities as requested.

The Associate will also provide support for projects from implementation through closeout. This individual willsupport a varied portfolio of projects around the world and will work under theguidance of a Senior Specialist or Manager to undertake various financial, contractual,management, and technical assistance tasks. This includes the application ofcurrent U.S.G, State, local and host country regulations and laws as well as IDG policies and procedures to contract implementation. The Associate will be expected to review and process monthly field office expenses accurately, draft client approval requests, assist in formatting andcopy-editing client deliverables and other project documents, liaise with and support field office operations and finance staff, assist with budget monitoring and financialmanagement, book and manage travel logistics for employees and consultants(airfare, hotels, ground transportation, etc.), and engage in other duties asassigned. The salary range is: $48,450-$51,850

Requirements
  • A minimum of one year of international development,state or local government project support work experience required; previousproject coordination experience a plus(operations, logistics, administrative support, etc.).
  • Technical interest and/or background (includingacademic coursework) in IDG areas of expertise strongly preferred: privatesector development, international trade, monitoring and evaluation, publicfinancial management, gender and social inclusion, economics, etc. (see IDG'swebsite for all technical areas).
  • Familiarity with USG, State, Local government or otherdonor-funded projects are a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel; strong Excel and quantitative skills preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part ofa team.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Experience living or working in developing countries a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required:international development, economics, public administration, etc.
