Job summary

H-E-B in San Antonio, TX is seeking an entry-level professional to support organization design initiatives, change management, and overall organizational effectiveness.

You will work with leaders across functions, apply analytical tools, and help translate insights into practical, sustainable design solutions. This role emphasizes collaboration, data-driven decision making, and building credible relationships while delivering small, scoped engagements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supports organizational design projects related to organization structure, change, and transformation.
• Supports implementation of solutions that improve organizational structures, clarify roles and responsibilities, enhance business process, streamline operations, and explore technology solutions.
• Supports / develops skills to advise Org Design team projects.
• Coordinates planning to improve department productivity, decision making, and performance.
• Builds relationships with business leaders and stakeholders.
• Apply analytical tools and data visualizations to inform design recommendations and assess project impact.
• Supports identification of resistance and performance gaps and collaboration with stakeholders to develop / implement solutions.
• Provides recommendations & insights that inform design decisions.
• Works in multiple disciplines across H-E-B to build business knowledge and establish credibility quickly (projects vary in length ranging from weeks to months).
• Develops partnerships / aligns on priorities and sustainable project solution implementation.
• Learns / administers tools to enable projects (e.g., Partner interviews, job shadowing, capability grids, analysis).
• Supports benchmarking that identifies H-E-B opportunities to evaluate / leverage.
• Coordinates quantitative and qualitative data collection for analysis to guide recommendations.
• Supports discovery by synthesizing interview notes & observations.
• Manages project plans, timelines, meeting coordination & materials, decision logs & key milestones.
• Creates executive reports and dashboards to summarize insights, outcomes and recommended next steps.
• Creates design artifacts & maintains documentation: org charts, RACI.
• Leads small scale org design engagements as appropriate.

Work Experience

• 0-2+ years of experience in organizational effectiveness, organizational design, workforce planning, HR consulting, business analytics, management consulting, or related disciplines

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Experience analyzing workforce data, organizational structures, spans and layers, headcount, or operational metrics
• Demonstrated proficiency with Excel and data analysis tools to identify trends and support recommendations
• Experience supporting cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to gather, organize, and interpret data
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and project management skills

Education

• A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Function in a fast-paced, office environment
• Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
• Work extended hours; sit for extended periods.
• Occasionally lift 20 lbs or more
