Job summary

H-E-B seeks a Team Leader I for Warehouse or Transportation to manage areas of operation and develop leadership capabilities among hourly Partners. You will provide daily supervision, set expectations, and guide performance to meet service goals in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Responsibilities include staffing decisions, KPI monitoring, labor optimization, and partner development while ensuring safety and compliance with SOPs and OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 1+ years of related experience required.
• Strong knowledge of department programs and related employment laws (EEOC).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Intermediate skills in internal/external software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support hourly Partners; foster teamwork and trust.
• Explain roles, expectations and performance metrics to the team.
• Monitor and resolve customer/service issues; drive service recovery and identifying trends.
• Evaluate KPIs and adjust staffing to meet daily facility goals.
• Develop Partners with growth opportunities; address underperformance.
• Maintain clean, safe, organized facility; ensure SOP and OSHA compliance.

Job Summary

As a Team Leader I for H-E-B Warehouse or Transportation, you'll manage different areas of operation to develop expertise in people leadership and tactical operational leadership. You'll lead a team of hourly Partners.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Management / Operations:


• Spends majority of time using independent judgment making employment-related business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions (e.g., product- and department-related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or otherwise engaging in resolving Partner-related matters)


• Provides daily supervision and support for an assigned group of hourly Partners; maintains an environment where Partners trust and respect the Leader and work together as a team to accomplish goals and objectives


• Engages with Partners daily; clearly explains roles, expectations and performance measurements for each critical component that impacts business outcomes


• Operates a team that consistently meets customer needs and expectations; tracks / monitors / resolves complaints; ensures service recovery efforts; identifies trends; provides feedback


• Monitors / evaluates key performance indicators for daily and weekly team performance; measures against goals; gets team buy-in; provides team feedback


• Monitors / adjusts labor requirements to balance staffing levels and overtime costs while meeting daily facility performance expectations


• Takes an active role in development of Partners; provides leaning and growth opportunities; addresses performance that does not meet expectations


• Maintains a clean, safe, pest-free, and well-organized facility; complies / ensures compliance with established SOPs; documents measures through SOPs in compliance with OSHA and H-E-B guidelines

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Function in a fast-paced distribution center and office environment
