AT&T is seeking an Assoc Director-Technology II to lead a team of web engineers in Bothell, WA. You will guide project scope, milestones, and architecture, driving high-velocity development across Java and React-based systems.
You will mentor engineers, implement CI/CD and observability, and ensure scalable, secure web applications in cloud and hybrid environments. A Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience are required.
DUTIES: Lead, inspire, and manage a team of web engineers through effective coaching, performance management, and career development. Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and timelines. Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for web projects including planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Architect and enforce best practices in web development, including coding standards, code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD). Ensure web applications are optimized for performance, accessibility, security, and scalability. Drive innovation by researching and integrating new web technologies, frameworks, and tools that enhance product capabilities. Manage resource allocation and project prioritization to meet deadlines and deliverables. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team productivity and product quality. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between engineering and business objectives. Stays abreast of emerging technologies and assesses their applicability to the organization. Apply experience and understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices for building highly scalable and maintainable systems. Apply experience with high-volume websites and high-velocity transactions and designing systems that can handle the demands of real-time or near-real-time data. Apply experience in the development of web applications and microservices. Lead, manage, and mentor teams. Build sophisticated applications and APIs in Cloud and hybrid cloud environments at large scale preferably in Java and React JS. Utilize observability tools including APM and analytics platforms. Work with cloud platforms to architect and implement scalable, high performance, and efficient solutions. Apply understanding and practical application of networking architecture principles and security: caching and content delivery (CDN). Utilize Java, React JS, Angular, Spring and REST, and performance tuning and application monitoring; utilizing Oracle, Kafka, Rabbit MQ, Redis, ELK, Azure, Prometheus, Grafana, Git, Jira, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes Oversee five Lead Software Engineers.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation applying experience and understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices for building highly scalable and maintainable systems; applying experience with high-volume websites and high-velocity transactions and designing systems that can handle the demands of real-time or near-real-time data; applying experience in the development of web applications and microservices; leading, managing, and mentoring teams; building sophisticated applications and APIs in Cloud and hybrid cloud environments at large scale preferably in Java and React JS; utilizing observability tools including APM and analytics platforms; working with cloud platforms to architect and implement scalable, high performance, and efficient solutions; applying understanding and practical application of networking architecture principles and security: caching and content delivery (CDN); utilizing Java, React JS, Angular, Spring and REST, and performance tuning and application monitoring; utilizing Oracle, Kafka, Rabbit MQ, Redis, ELK, Azure, Prometheus, Grafana, Git, Jira, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
