Assoc Dir, Project Vendor Management- US based — Syneos Health

Responsibilities

• Oversee vendor management support for clinical vendors used in clinical projects across assigned Therapeutic Area Business Unit(s) within Clinical Development, including supervisory responsibilities for the Project Vendor Management team members.
• Support multiple project teams within assigned TBU(s) to resolve clinical vendor issues, working with project teams, sponsors, and clinical vendors to address identified timeline and quality concerns.
• Coordinate with project managers to support issue resolution and serve as an escalation point for project issues where a Vendor Project Manager (VPM) has not been allocated.
• Act as a vendor relationship owner for one or more clinical vendors and collaborate with other vendor relationship owners on large-scale technical issues, vendor relationship issues, and new business development.
• Be a recognized leader and expert on clinical vendor services including, but not limited to, eCOA, eConsent, eSource, and IRT; review and clarify scope of services for vendor technologies with project teams, sponsors, and vendors.
• Support project managers in resolving vendor contracts and invoicing concerns; may supervise Project Vendor Management team members (PMs and Technical Specialists).
• Lead or contribute to workshops and meetings to develop sponsor-specific vendor technology implementation strategies; participate in Bid Defense Meetings and sponsor calls to discuss optimal technology for projects.
• When acting as VPM, oversee vendor technology design and data flow/strategies; ensure quality of system development, testing, production performance, and timely go-live through vendor technology UAT.
• Coordinate clinical vendor contracts and invoicing; ensure compliance with SOPs, regulations, and contractual terms; manage documentation and TMF filing; provide regular status updates and risk mitigation plans.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred in sciences, information technology, or related disciplines, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supervising project management and technical teams with training and mentorship experience.
• Extensive experience with clinical technologies, including eCOA and EDC; experience with eConsent, eSource, IRT, and/or DCT technologies strongly preferred.
• Experience developing technical specifications and knowledge of user acceptance testing processes preferred.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills with the ability to multitask under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to change; minimal travel up to 25% may be required.
• Knowledge of ICH/GCP regulatory requirements for clinical studies; proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Salary and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $97,300 to $170,300. Salary offers are based on factors including candidate qualifications, experience, and proficiency for the role.
