Job summary

The 805 Department of Rehabilitation Services in Oklahoma City is seeking an Assistive Technology Trainer to deliver instruction on assistive technology devices, software, and basic computer operation. Level I/II responsibilities include developing lesson plans, conducting classes or workshops, evaluating participant progress, and preparing reports for supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Level II requires bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in training, adult education or human resource development.
• Position may be filled at Level I or II.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and instruction regarding assistive technology devices, software programs and basic computer operation to enhance technology skills to clients either on a one-on-one basis or in a lab classroom setting.
• Maintain all AT Lab equipment with software updates as needed.
• Maintain inventory for all lab equipment.
• Assesses levels of achievement and evaluates programs and further needs of clients; as indicated by need, refers clients to other community resources that are equipped to provide further specialized instruction or training.
• Maintains records on all participants as to attendance and progress; prepares regular reports for submission to project supervisor.
