Job Description

REQUIRED:

• Computer literate familiar with programs such as Microsoft Office and BISD Special Education computerized programs;
• Minimum of three (3) years of special education classroom experience.

• Knowledge of assistive technology policies and procedures
• Knowledge of assistive technology equipment and services

The role of the Assistive Technology Specialist is to review and approve submitted paperwork for assistive technology evaluations. The Specialist will coordinate assistive technology evaluations with appropriate personnel, assist in assistive technology evaluations, and attend ARD meetings. They will purchase necessary equipment, develop and maintain equipment inventory, maintain and repair equipment, coordinate appropriate student services with other therapies, and provide direct assistance to students when necessary; train and provide technical assistance to students, families, and campuses.
