Title: Assisted Operations – NOC Technician (Annapolis Junction, MD)
We are seeking a NOC Technician for a contract opportunity in Annapolis Junction, MD , supporting large-scale managed customer networks. This position will work within a Network Operations Center environment and will be responsible for network alarm monitoring, fault management, incident/ticket management, troubleshooting, and technical escalation . This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work in Annapolis Junction, MD on Tuesdays and Thursdays .

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on NOC professional who enjoys working in a mission-critical network environment. You will gain exposure to real-time network monitoring, alarm management, network fault isolation, outage response, and SLA-driven managed services operations . The ideal candidate is dependable, technically curious, comfortable working independently, and able to remain focused during overnight network operations.

Contract Duration: Long-term Contract

Work Location: Annapolis Junction, MD – Hybrid

Onsite Requirement: Tuesdays & Thursdays

Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday OR Tuesday-Saturday

Estimated Work Week: 40-45 hours
Required Skills & Experience
Previous experience working in a NOC, Network Operations, Network Surveillance, or similar technical support environment

Experience monitoring and responding to network alarms and events

Understanding of network fault isolation, troubleshooting, and repair processes

Experience creating, updating, tracking, and closing incident or repair tickets

Ability to identify network-impacting events and appropriately escalate technical issues

Understanding of network outages, service degradation, and incident management

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight operations

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to coordinate with technical teams and field resources during network incidents

Must be comfortable working the 10:00 PM-6:00 AM overnight shift

Must be flexible to work Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday

You will actively monitor managed customer networks and ensure that equipment alarms and incidents are promptly identified and actioned. Responsibilities include validating network alarms, creating and maintaining repair tickets, performing initial fault isolation and troubleshooting, and escalating issues to the appropriate technical teams.

You will support Network Fault Management by identifying and responding to network impairments and assisting with network fault isolation and repair.

You will provide Event Management Support , ensuring supervisors are promptly notified of significant network, environmental, or infrastructure events requiring formal event notification.

You will manage cases and change activities , including opening, updating, tracking, and closing repair activities in the appropriate systems. You may also coordinate and direct field resources when facility impairments or network outages require onsite intervention.

During critical or catastrophic network events, you will provide emergency response support and assist Tier III teams with network restoration activities.

You will actively manage the shift workload by ensuring alarms and tickets are appropriately actioned, continuously monitoring network conditions, and maintaining accurate shift briefs for operational continuity.

You may also be assigned special projects with defined deadlines and will be expected to independently manage and complete those assignments.
