Job summary

Savant Senior Living in California seeks a Maintenance Assistant to keep our assisted living environment safe and comfortable for residents and staff. You will assist in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks under supervision, perform inspections, and participate in preventative maintenance and event setup.

The role emphasizes timely responses to work orders, inventory control, and accurate documentation while adhering to safety protocols and health screenings.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with health screening, TB and criminal record clearance.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred or required.
• California regulations knowledge (85065(f)/87411(g)).
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training welcome.
• Experience in general maintenance, preferably in healthcare/senior care.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Assist in general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities.
• Respond to maintenance requests and prioritize tasks.
• Perform preventative maintenance and equipment lubrication.
• Assist with setup/breakdown for events and resident needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and inventory.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages.
• Document maintenance activities and repairs.
• Ensure safety compliance and proper handling of hazardous materials.
• Report safety hazards and equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
