Job summary

Westminster Bradenton Towers is seeking a compassionate LPN for a Full-Time 7PM-11PM shift in Bradenton, FL. You will provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants, ensuring care aligns with physician orders and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Must hold Florida LPN license and CPR certification.
• 1 year of long-term care experience preferred.
• Must be willing to receive influenza vaccine during flu season.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CNAs as Charge Nurse and ensure adherence to physician orders.
• Implement and evaluate resident care per physician orders; document admissions in ECS.
• Assist with medical need evaluations and planning resident care.
• Enter physician orders into ECS and ensure medication administration per orders.
• Maintain medication cart and comply with PRN and controlled substance procedures.
• Perform skin evaluations and treatments per protocols.
• Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure.
• Assist residents with ADLs including bathing, dressing, feeding, and transfers.

JOB SUMMARY: Provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with

Westminster Services and its communities.

1. Supervise CNA's as the Charge Nurse; ensure that CNA's are following physician orders.
2. Implement resident care based on physician orders. Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders (PRN). Complete admission documentation in ECS.
3. Assist with the evaluation of residents for medical needs/changes.
4. Assist with planning resident care based on physician orders. Enter physician orders into ECS.
5. Ensure that residents are receiving their medication based on doctor’s orders/complete medication pass.
6. Maintain the medication cart including audit procedures for PRN medication and controlled medicines as defined by the nursing standards.
7. Perform skin evaluations and skin treatment as required by skin treatment protocols.
8. Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure.
9. Assist patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting, and other resident needs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a License Practical Nurse.Must be CPR Certified.

Experience and Basic Knowledge:One year of long term care desirable. Med/Surg, Home Health experience helpful. Also experience working with the handicapped, developmentally disabled, or older adults preferred.

Medical Requirement: Must be willing to receive the influenza (flu) vaccine during flu season.
