Job summary

Westminster Communities of Florida in Bradenton seeks a Part-Time LPN for our Health Center. The role includes supervising CNAs, administering prescribed care, and coordinating resident plans in ECS. Must hold an active Florida LPN license and CPR certification.

The position operates 7a–3p on-site with competitive part-time benefits. Prior long-term care or Med/Surg/Home Health experience is preferred, and drug/background checks are conducted.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CNAs as Charge Nurse and ensure orders are followed.
• Implement resident care per physician orders and update doctors on changes.
• Assist evaluation and planning of resident care and enter orders in ECS.
• Ensure medication administration per doctor orders and complete med passes.
• Maintain medication cart and audit PRN and controlled meds.
• Perform skin evaluations and monitor glucose, temp, and BP.
• Assist residents with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transfer, and ambulation.

We are currently searching for a Licensed Practical Nurse to work in our Health Center. In this role, LPNs will provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards.

Schedule: Part-time position, 1st shift, 7a-3p

Essential Functions:

• Supervise CNA's as the Charge Nurse; ensure that CNA's are following physician orders.
• Implement resident care based on physician orders. Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders (PRN). Complete admission documentation in ECS.
• Assist with the evaluation of residents for medical needs/changes. Assist with planning resident care based on physician orders. Enter physician orders into ECS.
• Ensure that residents are receiving their medication based on doctor’s orders/complete medication pass.
• Maintain the medication cart including audit procedures for PRN medication and controlled medicines as defined by the nursing standards.
• Perform skin evaluations and skin treatment as required by skin treatment protocols. Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure.
• Assist patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting, and other resident needs.

Education and Experience:

Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Must be CPR Certified.

One year of long term care desirable.

Med/Surg, Home Health experience helpful. Also experience working with the handicapped, developmentally disabled, or older adults preferred.
