Job summary

The Roxborough Early Learning Center is seeking a part-time, hourly assistant teacher in Philadelphia for the Greater Philadelphia YMCA. The role involves supporting planned curricula, engaging with children, and fostering a safe, caring environment for families.

You will work with a team to deliver age-appropriate activities, maintain cleanliness, and follow all YMCA policies to ensure quality childcare. This is a non-profit setting with community impact.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• 2 years (2500 hours) verified childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula to ensure fun, child-centered, and age-appropriate lessons.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for both children and families.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and supporting personal care routines.
• Supervise each child in your care and ensure a safe environment at all times.
• Uphold YMCA policies and guidelines for quality childcare.

What is needed for this job:

• High School degree or equivalent.

The responsibilities we will trust you with:

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula to ensure fun, child-centered, and age-appropriate lessons are offered.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for both children and families.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and supporting personal care routines of the children.
• Supervise each child in your care by being able to identify, SEE, HEAR, DIRECT and ASSIST, always ensuring a safe environment.
• Uphold all YMCA, State, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines for overall commitment to quality in childcare.
