Job summary

Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for a part-time Assistant Women's Soccer Coach in Lancaster, PA. The role reports to the Head Women's Soccer Coach and sits within Athletics & Recreation.

Responsibilities include mentoring athletes, scheduling games and practices, and maintaining safe facilities. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, 1+ year coaching experience, strong communication, and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year coaching experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
• CPR, AED, and first aid certification required.
• Must pass NCAA Division III Coaches Test.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, mentoring and coaching to student-athletes.
• Schedule and organize games and practices; develop practice plans.
• Promote academic excellence and athletic achievement in line with College goals.
• Coordinate campus visits for prospective student-athletes; communicate with families.
• Ensure facilities and equipment are prepared for practices and events.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Details

• Reports to: Head Women's Soccer Coach
• Department: Athletics & Recreation

Essential Functions

• Provide instruction, mentoring, coaching, evaluation and guidance to student-athletes. Determine appropriate coaching methods and strategies in consultation with the Head Coach.
• Provide assistance in scheduling and organizing games & meets. Develop and communicate practice schedules.
• Facilitate the implementation and maintenance of a standard of performance consistent with the College's goals of academic and athletic excellence. Promote academic achievement among athletes.
• Assist in coordination and logistics of official and unofficial campus visits by prospective student athletes. Maintain communications with parents and students as directed by the Head Coach.
• Assure facilities and equipment are prepared in advance of practice sessions and games/meets/matches. Report & monitor proper maintenance of equipment and practice and contest facilities to ensure safe playing conditions.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience coaching soccer programs.
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Google Suite Products (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
• Current CPR, AED, and first aid certification required.
• Must pass the NCAA Division III Coaches Test.
• Ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.
• Evidence of a commitment to community and belonging.
• Successful interview.

Additional Information

Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of reference checks, a criminal background verification, and verification of credentials. The College will coordinate these verifications.
