Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), a member of The Ohio Valley Conference and affiliate member of the Mid-American Conference (Men's Wrestling) and sponsor of 16 Division I sports, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer.

SIUE Athletics is recruiting a high-energy, strategic-minded, and student-focused Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach to help build a competitive NCAA Division I program. You will work closely with the head coach on organizing and administering a women’s basketball program in accordance with rules and regulations of the NCAA and OVC. You must have a passion for developing student-athletes and help them reach their potential on and off the court.

• Assisting in all aspects of program operations—coaching, scouting, recruiting, player development, game-day prep, and more

• Being a mentor and motivator, fostering both athletic and academic growth among student-athletes

• Supporting a team environment that prioritizes health, safety, and overall well-being

• Managing logistics: coordinating practices, travel, film, equipment, and compliance-related documentation

• Cultivating a championship mindset rooted in integrity, effort, and respect

Qualifications – What You Bring to the Program:

• A relentless work ethic and commitment to building a premier Division I program

• Experience in collegiate-level coaching or playing, with strong recruiting connections a plus

• Clear knowledge and adherence to NCAA and Ohio Valley Conference rules and policies

• A proven ability to support the holistic development of student-athletes

• A strong understanding of the balance between competitiveness and compliance

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Previous collegiate or professional coaching or playing experience
- Strong communication and organization skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- 1-2 years of collegiate coaching experience as an NCAA Division I or II assistant coach, or NCAA Division II or III, NAIA or NJCAA head coach experience, or professional playing experience
