Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Water Resources team in New Jersey. The role focuses on preparing and overseeing hydrology and hydraulics modeling, stormwater management design, and dam safety permitting, with an emphasis on flood risk reduction and environmental compliance.

The successful candidate will have a civil engineering degree, 7+ years of water resources experience, and a PE license (NJ license preferred or via reciprocity).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
  • 7+ years of related water resources experience is required.
  • PE license is required (NJ license highly preferred or by reciprocity).
  • Prior experience with NJDEP is a plus.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Support and/or lead stormwater management projects focused on green infrastructure and low impact development as well as stormwater infrastructure improvements.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
  • Design stormwater management BMPs (Best Management Practices).
  • Provide supporting calculations and plans for soil erosion and sediment control.
  • Perform flood studies with software such as HEC-RAS.
  • Conduct assessments and rehabilitation designs for dams.
  • Conduct dam breach analysis and hazard classifications.
  • Prepare scope and fees for project proposals.
  • Some occasional site visits, as needed.
