Description

The Charter Township of Union is seeking a knowledgeable, energetic, and team-oriented individual to join its Public Services Department team as a full-time Public Works Foreman.

Qualifications:

1. Education equivalent to completion of twelfth (12th) grade, supplemented by vocational training, experience, or formal education in construction management.
2. Six or more years of experience in water and sewer construction and maintenance, including experience as a crew leader.
3. Possession of a State of Michigan S-3 and D-3 water certifications.
4. Thorough knowledge of safety practices and procedures in utility maintenance and public works projects.
5. Minimum of a Class B CDL with air brakes.
6. Knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment used in water and sewer line installation, maintenance, and repair.
7. Skill in operating and maintaining vehicles, equipment, and tools.
8. Ability to read maps and blueprints.
9. Ability to establish effective working relationships and exercise good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness when dealing with contractors, agencies, and the public.
10. Proficiency with office equipment and software, including word processing, data management, and new technologies like SCADA and GIS.
11. Availability to respond to emergency situations 24/7.
12. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
