Qualifications

  • Associate degree with 2–3 years of related experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Salesforce; flexible schedule incl. weekends/evenings.
  • Forklift certification, DOT physical, and other required certifications as needed.
  • Experience in inventory and warehouse management, equipment/vehicle maintenance, and volunteer coordination.
  • Able to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operations 70%: receive/ship raw materials, equipment, and finished goods; ensure accurate material fulfillment; uphold health, safety, and security standards; propose process improvements with the manager.
  • Community Outreach 15%: recruit, manage, and train volunteers; provide recruitment support for warehouse locations.
  • Third-Party & Centralized Distribution Logistics 15%: manage inventory accuracy, losses, tracking, reporting, and forecasting; monitor KPIs and cost metrics.

POSITION SUMMARY

As the Assistant Centralized Distribution Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the growth of Rise Against Hunger’s meal packaging programs, sustainability projects and will play an integral role in day-to-day warehouse functions.

Who Are you?
  • You have an Associate Degree, along with 2-3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce and are willing to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and evenings.
  • You hold or are able to obtain a forklift certification, DOT physical and other relevant certifications that may be required.
  • You hold previous experience in inventory and warehouse management, general maintenance of equipment and vehicles and volunteer coordination.
  • You’re able and willing to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
Your responsibilities
  • Operations 70%: You will receive and ship raw materials, equipment and finished goods and ensure the accurate fulfillment of materials for meal packaging events. You will ensure health, safety and security standards are upheld for both staff and any inventory. You will work closely with your manager to recommend and execute improvements to processes and policies.
  • Community Outreach 15%: You will work with the public to recruit, manage and train volunteers and act as recruitment support for warehouse locations.
  • Third-Party and Centralized Distribution Warehouse Logistics 15: You’ll manage inventory, ensuring accuracy and mineralizing loss, damage and contamination. You’ll track and report inventory and assist in the forecasting of inventory needs. You will track key performance indicators which may include inventory accuracy, operational costs, order fulfillment quality and other operational goals.

The Global Operations team is an organized and task-driven team, focused on ensuring the Rise Against Hunger’s logistics are in order. Our team works to ensure that the inventory, staffing and volunteer needs of the organization’s warehouse locations are properly upheld. We collaborate with various teams to ensure standards and policies are upheld across the organization.

  • You are age 21 years or older
  • A Bachelor's degree or four years of work experience in related field
  • Proficiency in Google/Microsoft office suite as well as other cloud-based software
  • Experience with non-profit work is helpful but not required

Starting Pay = $27.00/hr
