Job Purpose

The Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing daily warehouse operations during their shift, including scheduling staff, inbound/outbound loading, inventory control, equipment maintenance, and housekeeping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform yard checks, ensuring trailers are properly parked and accessible.
• Complete and distribute all necessary paperwork from the previous day.
• Oversee loading and unloading of carriers.
• Ensure trailers are emptied and ready for local drivers.
• Conduct periodic dock safety inspections.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and perform physical counts.
• Process customer orders promptly, including billing and inventory management.
• Supervise order picking, staging, and loading processes.
• Coordinate carrier schedules for pickups.
• Manage warehouse personnel, including scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
• Train forklift operators on safety procedures and handling requirements.
• Optimize warehouse space and layout.
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse that meets food safety standards.

• Experience managing a warehouse with a background in Inventory Control Systems.
• Proficiency in Excel, data entry, and general computer skills.
