Job summary

The position involves oversight of security programs, inspections, and coordination with program organizers, staff, and inmates across custody levels, including death row.

Qualifications

• Four years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises.
• Six years of full-time experience in any field, or a bachelor's degree.
• Master's degree with three years of supervisory experience, or a doctorate with two years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direction and guidance in security-related matters through regular conferences to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, ACA standards, and related policies.
• Conducts regular inspections of all security areas for adherence to sanitation regulations and standard security procedures.
• Confers with offenders and their families regarding concerns, requests, and complaints.
• Ensures program organizers receive maximum opportunity to operate within the unit and that staff receive necessary support.
• Work with adult male inmates of all custody levels, including death row, and supervise maximum-security inmates and lower-level security officers.
