Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance seeks an experienced casualty underwriter to grow the Casualty book of business in the Southeast, covering primary general liability, lead umbrella, and excess liability across multiple classes.

You will build broker and customer relationships in the Southeastern Region, collaborate with loss control, claims, and legal teams, and make sound underwriting decisions in a fast-paced environment while preserving underwriting integrity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and grow the Casualty book of business which includes primary general liability, lead umbrella, and excess liability for various classes (e.g. General Casualty, Energy, Transportation, and Products).
• Establish, develop, and expand broker and customer relationships in the Southeastern Region.
• Work closely with loss control, claims, and legal teams to evaluate risk and provide solutions to customers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and make quick decisions while maintaining underwriting integrity.
