Murray State University is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Facilities Management to lead daily operations, strategic planning, and a large facilities portfolio. The role supervises multiple directors and contract services to maintain campus infrastructure, safety, and sustainability.
The AVPFM drives capital planning, policy development, and capital project execution across campus sites, coordinating with architects, engineers, and the Board of Regents.

VP for Finance and Admin Services
Responsible for assisting the Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services (VPFAS) in managing the daily operations and strategic planning of the university facilities. Includes responsibility for all aspects of facility project development and management, as well as direct supervision over the directors and associate directors of Building and Equipment Maintenance, Environmental Safety & Health, Facilities Finance and Administration, Grounds Maintenance and Building Services, Facilities Design & Construction and third-party contracts for grounds and building services. The AVPFM assists in the development and implementation of campus sustainability initiatives, particularly as they relate to energy efficiency and the sustainable design and construction of campus facilities. Responsible for coordinating effective communication and collaboration between campus constituents and project architects, engineers, and the general contractor as well as making frequent presentations to legislative committees and the Board of Regents as required.
As head of the University’s Department for Facilities Management, the AVP provides general management, supervision, and professional direction to a comprehensive facilities management organization that provides facilities planning; space administration; architectural and engineering; construction management, facilities maintenance and repair; renovations; utilities generation and distribution; custodial; grounds landscape; recycling; and other maintenance services to the main campus, including Auxiliary Enterprises, the remote facilities of the Breathitt Veterinary Center (veterinary diagnostic center), Regional campus sites in Hopkinsville and Paducah, and Hancock Biological Station.
