Job summary

Marion Independent School District seeks an Assistant Varsity Boys Wrestling Assistant Coach for Marion High School. You will organize practices, supervise facilities, and work with the trainer on injury prevention and rehabilitation, while ensuring student eligibility under district and IHSAA/IGHSAU rules.

Must hold a Coaching Endorsement/Authorization and report to the Activities Director and High School Principal.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization as mandated by the Iowa Department of Education, Iowa Board of Educational Examiners, Iowa High School Athletic Association, and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

Responsibilities

• Organizing, conducting, and evaluating daily practices.
• Maintaining inventory and safety checks of equipment, supplies, and facilities.
• Supervising locker rooms and facilities until all students leave.
• Assuring necessary medical attention with the Trainer on prevention and rehabilitation programs.
• Determining program needs for budgeting and attending required IHSAA/IGHSAU meetings.
• Promoting the activity through announcements and other communications.
