Job summary

The Ankeny Community School District in Iowa seeks an Assistant Varsity Girls Track Coach (Hawkettes) to support the head coach in organization, development, and leadership of the program, including practice planning, skill development, and game preparation.

This part-time, stipend position requires coaching credentials, prior coaching experience, strong knowledge of coaching techniques, and the ability to mentor student-athletes and supervise staff while upholding district policies and safety

Qualifications

Valid coaching license through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of the season.
Previous coaching experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to lead, instruct, and supervise students and staff.
Ability to work under pressure and remain calm.

Responsibilities

Attend and coach in all scheduled games as assigned.
Collaborate with head coach to develop off-season programs and opportunities for student athletes.
Coordinate practices, design instructional strategies, and supervise student athletes.
Ensure sportsmanship and enforce district rules during competitions.
Maintain student-athlete records and equipment inventories.
