Lake Country Christian School in Texas is seeking an Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach to join our athletic department. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach in developing student-athletes, emphasizing skill development, teamwork, discipline, character, and sportsmanship.

The role requires collaboration with the Head Coach, supporting practices, games, and school values while maintaining a positive, faith-based team culture and strong academics.

Qualifications

• Previous basketball coaching or playing experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and player development.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with student-athletes and coaching staff.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to the Christian mission and values of Lake Country Christian School.
• Availability for afternoon and evening practices, games, and occasional weekend commitments.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, games, and team activities.
• Provide instruction in fundamental basketball skills, offensive and defensive strategies, and player development.
• Support game preparation, scouting, and in-game coaching responsibilities.
• Foster a positive, competitive, and Christ-centered team culture.
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes.
• Promote academic achievement, accountability, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Assist with offseason workouts, summer activities, and player development opportunities as needed.
• Maintain effective communication with the Head Coach, athletic administration, student-athletes, and parents.
• Uphold all school policies, athletic department expectations, and TAPPS regulations.
