WIN Waste Innovations in Millbury, MA is seeking an Assistant Utility Operator to monitor and operate ash and auxiliary plant equipment, ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations. You will perform maintenance and minor repairs, communicate effectively, and assist in troubleshooting while working with rotating shifts.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, willingness to work overtime, and the Massachusetts Hoisting License (1C/2A) or the ability to obtain within 9 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Mechanical abilities sufficient to perform equipment maintenance and minor repair tasks such as shear pins, valve repacking, strainer cleaning, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate ash handling and auxiliary plant equipment with guidance to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations.
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs to ash handling and other assigned systems.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally using intercom, radio, or in person.
• Anticipate common problems, identify recurring issues, and take appropriate action.
• Troubleshoot equipment and assist in diagnosing problem areas.
• Operate forklifts, manlifts, skid steers and other mobile equipment as needed.
• Maintain a positive work environment with customers, vendors, co-workers and management.
