Job summary

PartnerRe Ltd. in the United States is seeking a Managed Care Assistant Underwriter to prioritize and complete proposals, pre-underwrite renewals, and analyze new business for Managed Care products.

You will produce a profitable book of business through brokers, consultants, and reinsurance intermediaries while collaborating with AVP Managed Care and other teams to meet deadlines and service standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Analytical mindset with data-driven decision making.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in high-volume environments.
• Experience in health reinsurance underwriting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review underwriting information and develop rates for Managed Care accounts following rules and pricing methodologies.
• Interact with brokers, consultants, and intermediaries as needed.
• Prepare proposals, correspondence, and statistical reports.
• Maintain data systems and provide management reports as required.
• Manage producer relationships to maximize profitability and meet service standards.
• Collaborate with AVP Managed Care and underwriters to meet deadlines and client needs.
• Support updating underwriting manuals as needed.

Salary Range: $60,000-75,000

Job Description

We are seekinga Managed Care Assistant Underwriterwho will be responsible for prioritizing and completing requests for proposals, analyzing and pre-underwriting new and renewal business for our Managed Care product. The position is responsible for producing a profitable book of business working through select brokers, consultants and reinsurance intermediaries.

• Review underwriting information, develop rates and terms for Managed Care accounts based upon underwriting rules, guidelines, pricing methodologies and account specific date
• Interact with brokers, consultants and reinsurance intermediaries as necessary
• Compose, prepare and generate correspondence, proposals and statistical reports as required
• Provide management reports and maintain key data systems as required
• Responsible for all aspects of account management and producer relationships to maximize profitability and meet service standards
• Works closely with AVP Managed Care, Underwriters, PULSE and Claim Examiners, to meet required deadlines, business objectives, and client service standards
• Review, finalize and issue Reinsurance Agreements, Policies and Amendments
• Assists with maintaining and updating underwriting manuals as needed

About You

• Proficiency with Microsoft office with focus on Excel and Word and knowledge of PowerPoint
• Ability to manage competing priorities and to operate without close supervision during high volume, high demand cycles of the business
• Superior oral and written communication, negotiation and analytical skills
• Ability to think strategically, effectively assess risk and make solid data-driven decisions
• Previous health reinsurance underwriting experience is a plus
• Experience working in matrix organizations an asset
• Working on virtual teams preferred
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required
