Job summary

Farm Family seeks an Assistant Underwriter to support a mentor underwriter and underwriting manager. The role involves preparing new and renewal accounts, collecting data, and ensuring proper documentation before referral.

Travel to meet agents is required, and the position is located in Omaha, NE. The role emphasizes collaboration with exclusive agents to support policy growth, profitability, and retention, with a home-office style base but an in-office requirement at one of Clearbrook's

Qualifications

• Associate degree is required.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an Associate Underwriter or three years in related insurance.
• Two AINS or AU courses preferred.
• Willingness to participate in field visits to meet agents and learn markets.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, appraises, and recommends submissions for acceptance or refusal.
• Works within assigned underwriting authority to determine acceptable terms and pricing.
• Prepares new and renewal accounts for mentor Underwriter review with collected information.
• Manages workflow queues and ensures timely, thorough file reviews.
• Provides timely, professional service to Field Agents and CSRs.
• Communicates with Field Agents/CSRs to obtain necessary underwriting information.
