It's not for everyone but we're not looking for everyone-we're looking for you.**IF YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES, HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL GET*** $22/hr* Full-time/Year-round Position* Paid Vacation & Sick Time* Paid Maternity & Parental Leave* Medical, Dental, Vision, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, Life & Disability Insurances* 401k program eligibility with employer match after a year of employment with 1,000 hours of service* FREE or deeply discounted season passes for you and your dependents* Employee Recognition Programs (including daily, monthly, yearly, and seniority programs)* Seasonal employee parties* Regular free employee breakfasts/lunches, family events, and parties* For a full listing of employee perks both on and off-property,**SUMMARY**This full-time, year-round position provides the leadership, monitoring, and evaluations necessary to ensure Jay Peak cleanliness standards are followed and that each type of accommodation used by a guest is cleaned and inspected prior to being occupied.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)*** Assists the Tram Side Housekeeping Manager with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new Room Attendants, as well as ongoing training for existing staff.* Assists with employee evaluations and provides ongoing coaching regarding safe work practices and department standards.* Assists the Tram Side Housekeeping Manager with preparing and monitoring housekeeping work schedules, daily labor standards, and budget calculations to ensure housekeeping standards are met and labor budgets remain on target.* Takes regular monthly inventories of linen, cleaning chemicals, smallwares, and other supplies as needed.* Prepares supply requisitions to meet the needs of the business and ensures proper usage and control of supplies.* Assists the Tram Side Housekeeping Manager with maintaining housekeeping staff timecards.* Develops and maintains positive working relationships with other departments to reach common goals* Listens and responds appropriately to the concerns of other employees.* Speaks with others using clear and professional language* Prepares and reviews written documents accurately and completely.* Assists in monitoring washing and drying machinery and inspect linen and terry for damage as needed.* Attends periodic meetings to include Housekeeping Managers Meeting, Resort Staff Meetings, Safety Meetings, and Monthly Forecast Meetings.* Offers guidance to team members through periodic stand-up meetings.* Support guest safety and security by ensuring room doors are secured, keys are properly controlled, lost and found items are logged and securely stored, and all resort regulations are followed.* Cleans rooms when needed, or when the required number of team members are not available to complete the work.* Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of the establishment, both personally, and/or with the assistance of inspectors/supervisors**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**Directly supervises up to 80 employees in the Housekeeping Department, including 8 subordinate supervisors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities, in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning work day, directing work load, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Reporting to Manager any serious employee problems.## QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**Intermediate Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.**REASONING ABILITY**Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.**COMPUTER SKILLS**To perform this position successfully, an individual should have knowledge of internet software; Microsoft Office Suiteto include Microsoft Word & Excel. Maestro knowledge is preferred but not required.**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**Must hold a valid Driver's License and be eligible for enrollment as a driver on Jay Peak Resort's Commercial Automobile policy.**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.**RESORT CONDITIONS**This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
