Job summary

LSU New Orleans is seeking an Assistant Track & Field Coach to support the Head Coach in developing and retaining student-athletes for men's & women's track & field and cross-country programs. The role emphasizes compliance with NCAA rules, recruiting, and day-to-day administrative duties.

Ideal candidates will have at least 1–2 years of coaching experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 1-2 years experience as a high school, college, professional coach or on a college coaching staff.
• Knowledge of NCAA compliance policies and procedures.
• Proven ability to recruit student-athletes and build relationships with stakeholders.
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assists Head Coach with recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
• Assists with management of funds and provides input for annual budget development.
• Supports fundraising goals by participating in events and promotions.
• Helps with travel arrangements, meet entries, and itinerary development.
• Coordinates home meets, scheduling, officials, and volunteers.
• Collaborates on meet-day coaching strategy for athletes.
• Assists with inventory, ordering and distribution of equipment and supplies.
• Schedules facilities for practice and competition.
