Marian Central Catholic High School is seeking an Assistant Track & Field Coach to join a developing program. The role focuses on coaching distance events, mentoring student-athletes, and supporting the head coach as a succession plan for the future.

Ideal candidates show reliability, a willingness to learn, and strong character, with distance coaching experience preferred but not required; attendance at weekday practices and meets is expected, with mentorship toward taking on leadership roles

Qualifications

• Previous track and field or cross-country coaching experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with high school student-athletes.
• Availability for weekday practices and all scheduled meets.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and leading daily practices.
• Provide instruction, encouragement, and supervision to student-athletes.
• Support the development of distance runners and assist with other event groups as needed.
• Help with meet preparation, equipment, athlete supervision, and team logistics.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, academic responsibility, and personal growth.
• Maintain professional communication with athletes, families, school staff, and other coaches.
• Follow all school, athletic department, and governing-body policies.
