Job summary

Sioux Falls School District's Jefferson High School Athletics Department seeks an assistant coach to help develop student-athletes on and off the track. Join a program that builds champions through teamwork, discipline, and leadership.

Responsibilities include assisting with practices, determining participation with the Head Coach, promoting the athletic program in the school and community, and supporting fundraising efforts.

Qualifications

• Coaching and teaching experience desired.
• Fundamentals of Coaching or equivalent; Sports First Aid or Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries or equivalent (renew every 2 years).
• Concussion in Sports - What You Need to Know (renew annually). High school/college participation preferred.
• Teaching assignment in building preferred.

• Assist in directing and coordinating interscholastic athletics.
• Determine athlete participation with Head Coach during practices and games.
• Positively promote the athletic program within the schools and community.
• Operate within the policies of the conference and the SDHSAA.
• Maintain a staff relationship with other coaches.
• Assist with fundraising activities as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Coaching and teaching experience desired.

Physical Requirements

Hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit. The ability to travel between locations.

Other Requirements

Fundamentals of Coaching or equivalent (must be completed one time); Sports First Aid or Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries or equivalent (must be renewed once every two years); Concussion in Sports - What You Need to Know (must be renewed on an annual basis. High school/college participation preferred. Teaching assignment in building preferred.

Essential Functions & Duties

• Assists in the direction and coordination of interscholastic athletics in their school.

PAY INFORMATION

Season Pay - $4,916.00
