Job summary

Jefferson High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is seeking an Assistant Track and Field Coach for sprints. The role supports the Athletics Department in developing student-athletes and building character through competitive track experiences.

Responsibilities include coordinating practices with the Head Coach, promoting the program in the community, and assisting with fundraising and other duties as assigned. A BA/BS in Education is preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS Education preferred.
• Coaching and teaching experience desired.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Fundamentals of Coaching or equivalent (must be completed one time).
• Sports First Aid or Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries or equivalent (must be renewed once every two years).
• Concussion in Sports – What You Need to Know (must be renewed on an annual basis).

• Works in conjunction with Head Coach in determining athlete participation during practices and games, including playing time at the respective levels.
• Positively promotes the athletic program within the schools and community.

• Maintains a staff relationship with other coaches.
• Assists with fund-raising activities as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION LEVEL:

BA/BS Education Preferred

EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

Coaching and teaching experience desired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit. The ability to travel between locations.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
