Franklin & Marshall College is seeking a part-time Assistant Track & Field Coach to support the program and focus on developing student-athletes both academically and athletically.

The role involves on-field coaching, recruitment, compliance monitoring, and related administrative duties under the Head Coach while fostering a culture of excellence and growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of coaching Track and Field experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
• Current CPR, AED, and first aid certification required.
• Must pass NCAA Division III Coaches Test.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, mentoring, coaching, evaluation and guidance to student-athletes.
• Schedule and organize games & meets; develop practice schedules.
• Promote academic and athletic excellence among athletes.
• Assist with official/unofficial campus visits and communication with parents/students.
• Ensure facilities and equipment are prepared for practices and competitions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Head Coach.

Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for a part-time Assistant Track & Field Coach.

• Location:F&M Campus -Lancaster, PA
• Classification: Part-time, Non-Exempt
• Schedule:To be determined by the supervisor
• Reports to: Head Track & Field Coach

Job Description:

The Assistant Track and Field Coach is responsible for providing effective support and assistance of the Track and Field program. This position focuses on the development of student-athletes, prioritizing academic success, athletic excellence, and personal growth. The Assistant Coach is responsible for on-court/field coaching, recruitment, compliance monitoring, and administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Essential Functions:

• Provide instruction, mentoring, coaching, evaluation and guidance to student-athletes. Determine appropriate coaching methods and strategies in consultation with the Head Coach.
• Provide assistance in scheduling and organizing games & meets. Develop and communicate practice schedules.
• Facilitate the implementation and maintenance of a standard of performance consistent with the College's goals of academic and athletic excellence. Promote academic achievement among athletes.
• Assist in coordination and logistics of official and unofficial campus visits by prospective student athletes. Maintain communications with parents and students as directed by the Head Coach.
• Assure facilities and equipment are prepared in advance of practice sessions and games/meets/matches. Report & monitor proper maintenance of equipment and practice and contest facilities to ensure safe playing conditions.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience coaching Track and Field.
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Google Suite Products (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
• Current CPR, AED, and first aid certification required.
• Must pass the NCAA Division III Coaches Test.
• Ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.
• Evidence of a commitment to community and belonging.
• Successful interview.
• Successful completion of background checks.

Additional Information:

Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of reference checks, a criminal background verification, and verification of credentials. The College will coordinate these verifications.
