Job summary

Town of Natick Department of Public Works seeks an Assistant Town Engineer to assist the Town Engineer in the administrative and technical activities of the Engineering Division. The role supports major infrastructure projects and helps meet division goals in Natick.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an EIT certification; 5-7 years of public works experience and a Class D driver’s license. This is a union position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field and an EIT certification; Professional Engineer preferred.
• 5-7 years of professional experience in public works or roadway construction and maintenance.
• Must have a Class D Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assist Town Engineer by planning, organizing and directing field and office activities, and by developing, recommending and implementing policies, systems and procedures.
• Oversee surveys, studies and GIS related to highways, sidewalks, bridges, water, wastewater and drainage systems.
• Review plans and designs for Town infrastructure and MADOT projects in Natick; review new development plans.
• Authorize utility and street construction permits; manage municipal permits and supervise construction inspection.
