Lexington Montessori School is seeking an assistant teacher for our toddler program, serving children aged 21 months to three years. In this nurturing environment, toddlers develop early relationships outside the home, learn to trust adults, and independently carry out daily tasks.
Our school boasts a collegial faculty committed to diversity, Montessori philosophy, and pedagogy. Applicants should have experience with young children. Knowledge of Montessori methods and Spanish language skills are a plus.
This is a dual position tied to the before and after school care program. The schedule is five days a week from 10:30 to 5:00, with hours subject to change due to the nature of the program. A detailed description of the after-school component is attached.

Lexington Montessori School is an independent day school serving students from toddler through eighth grade, with approximately 220 students. We provide extensive outdoor education on our 19-acre campus, including woods and a farming program.
The assistant teacher also serves as an after-school teacher for toddlers. This role includes co-leading the after-school program, assisting with lunch and naptime, and guiding children’s independence and choice in a safe, caring environment. Activities are conducted indoors and outdoors, all within the Montessori framework.
