Job summary

The Nurturing Nook, a licensed childcare center in Fox Point, WI, is hiring an Assistant Teacher to support the Infant classroom. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to pass background checks, and about one year of licensed classroom experience along with Intro to Childcare completion.

Typical shift is Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, with compensation of $15–$17 per hour depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all classroom activities
• Implement activities that support growth in emotional, social, cognitive, creative and physical development
• Follow directions, accept feedback, and improve as needed
• Create and maintain a clean and safe classroom environment
• Establish rapport with families to provide quality care
• Demonstrate physical ability to work around small children (sit, stand, walk, run, stairs)
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs as required

The Nurturing Nook in Fox Point is a licensed childcare center seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Infant classroom. One year experience in a licensed classroom setting and Intro to Childcare must be completed.

Main Job Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
• Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
