Job summary

Saia seeks a Terminal Operations Manager in the Harrisburg area to oversee planning and daily operations at a terminal. You will direct staffing, dock and pickup/delivery activities, and ensure timely, cost-efficient service to customers.

Responsibilities include investigating complaints, training staff, and using data analytics to optimize performance while maintaining safety and policy compliance. Bachelor's degree and 5+ years' experience required.

• 5+ years of terminal operations experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and transportation management applications.

Position Summary

Manages the planning and operations of a terminal. Oversees various terminal functions, including pickup and delivery, dock operations, and general administration.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates the activities of terminal employees to provide cost effective, timely, and quality service to customers.
• Investigates customer complaints and resolves problems.
• Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Coordinates staffing levels and work scheduling to maximize terminal productivity.
• Oversees compliance with company policies and procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
• Uses software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems.
• Interviews, selects, and onboards terminal employees.
• Facilitates good employee relations through motivation, feedback, and coaching.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
• 5+ years of terminal operations experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and transportation management applications.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
