Job summary

Central Transport is seeking an Assistant Terminal Manager for our Chicago Ridge facility. In this role you will oversee inbound and outbound operations on the terminal dock, manage loading and forklift traffic, and ensure accurate palletized freight handling.

You will recruit, hire, onboard, and develop terminal staff, mentor drivers and dock workers, monitor production to meet KPI goals, and uphold DOT/OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• Prior LTL management experience required.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
• Willingness to travel or relocate for opportunities.
• Able to work 50 hours per week on average.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 4:00pm - 2:00am

Salary Range: $105,000-$120,000 + up to 15% in quarterly bonuses!

Assistant Terminal Manager

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Prior LTL management experience required
• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week average
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required
• Ability to travel or relocate for future opportunities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee inbound & outbound operations on the terminal dock
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dock workers
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards
• Ensure company operational model compliance
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase
