Job description

Summary

The Assistant Tennis Coach at Twin Falls High School will support the head coach in the development and management of the school's tennis program. This seasonal position requires a passionate individual with a strong understanding of tennis techniques and strategies, as well as the ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes. The assistant coach will work closely with players to enhance their skills, promote teamwork, and foster a positive and competitive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practice sessions and team meetings.
  • Provide individual and group instruction to student-athletes on tennis techniques, strategies, and sportsmanship.
  • Help organize and supervise team competitions, including matches and tournaments.
  • Monitor student-athlete performance and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the tennis program.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, athletic department rules, and state regulations.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive team atmosphere, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship among players.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
  • Assist with the organization of fundraising and community outreach activities to support the tennis program.
  • Attend coaching clinics and workshops to improve knowledge and skills related to tennis coaching.
Requirements
  • Previous experience playing or coaching tennis at the high school level or higher.
  • Strong understanding of tennis rules, techniques, and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other coaching staff.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends during the tennis season.
  • A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
