Responsibilities

• Assists with year‑round recruitment of high school and junior college players, including visits, calls and letters.
• Assists with delivering coaching instructions in a variety of learning styles.
• Assists with pre/post workouts using a teaching approach.
• Ensures tapes/video equipment are prepared for home and away games and exchanges tapes with opponents.
• Record statistics for each match.
• Represent the program in a professional, mentoring style.

Job description

Assistant Tennis Coach Tennis facility in McPherson, Kansas is looking for an Assistant Tennis Coach.

Position Overview: The successful candidate will assist the Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach with managing a competitive Tennis program that adheres to all College, KCAC, and NAIA rules and regulations while providing a safe and accepting environment for student‑athletes to grow and develop academically, athletically and one which encourages personal responsibility, sportsmanship and service to others.

This is a 10-month, part time, exempt position and is eligible for the full college benefits’ package. Campus housing is included in the compensation package.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Thorough and accurate knowledge in the subject sport
• Working knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations
• Strong knowledge of tennis skills and strategies
• Good communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal.
• Strong coaching and recruiting skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to engage and communicate with prospective student‑athletes and their families
• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse community

• Represents McPherson College and the men’s and women’s tennis program in a professional, mentoring style.
