POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Technical Designer will support the Men’s Accessories Design team during all stages of the design process across the following categories: Men’s bags, small leather goods and belts

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Support the design team with PLM input of styles, materials, colors, trims and hardware
  • Create and update lifeize technical specs for bags, slgs and belts in Illustrator
  • Clearly communicate technical constctrucion details and design intent through technical specs, photos and correction pages.
  • Review samples for corrections based on technical accuracy, worksmanship and aesthetics
  • Help maintain standards for detail execution and construction as defined by design
  • Maintain the handbag, slg, and belts linesheets at each stage of the design process in Miro
  • Support design team with uploading photos and cads to Prana
  • Create Illustrator cads to represent season color offerings for each category
  • Execute photoshop renderings to communicate changes in construction, artwork, logo placement, etc.
  • Maintain daily communication with our PD partners in New York and Asia to resolve technical issues and make sure corrections are clearly communicated.
  • Keep sample closets and presentations spaces organized
  • Assist designers with various tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of work experience in design, technical design or product development with a focus on handbags or leather goods

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in design (preferably fashion design or industrial design) preferred

Skills:

  • Understanding of handbag construction
  • Experience with slgs and belts a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience in PLM a plus
  • Experience in Miro a plus
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible to support on multiple proejcts at once
  • Resourcefulness in problem solving
  • Great written and verbal communication
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team

Pay Range:$59,000---$85,200

PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
